POP Book 1 (second edition) aims to give young learners the ideal start to writing. Therefore teachers need to focus on how the students hold their pencils and always make sure that they are working from the top down and from left to right. POP begins with simple hand eye coordination exercises to allow the very young to adapt to holding a pencil and moving it on a page. From there it moves through to the recognition and recall of the English alphabet.
